On Wednesday the 2nd day of February, 2010, the Institute of Appraisers & Cost Engineers organized a dinner in honour of the Minister of State, Commerce and Industry, Ms. Josephine Tapgun. During the dinner, the Minister was conferred an Honorary Fellowship by the Institute.
The Chairman of the occasion Distinguished Senator of the Federal Republic Of Nigeria, Senator Engr. Lee Maeba JP, declared the event open after showering encomium and commendations on the Hon. Minister Of State, Commerce and Industry. The Chairman of the Institute Engr. Chief Giandomenico Massari FNSE (JP), officially inducted the Hon. Minister as an Honourary Fellow of the Institute and remarks of congratulations were noted all round on the deserving initiative. The Minister then took the floor to announce how privileged she was at receiving the fellowship and promised to represent the Institute at all times. Visibly elated, she encouraged the IACE to do more to propagate the ideals of Cost Engineering through more avenues so more Nigerians can be a part of the movement.
A sumptuous dinner was served and felicitations flowed from the entire gathering. The IPC and Dr Charles Mbelede then took turns to conduct the goodwill messages and also expressed their pleasure at how the event turned out. Engr Battah Ndirpaya gave the vote of thanks with special commendation going to the Secretary of the Institute, who also served as the MC, on the success of the event.
The event came to an end with closing prayers said by Engr Kwali MNSE.
